In October, Webber Wentzel celebrates LGBTQI+ Pride Month to commemorate the first South African pride parade held in Johannesburg on 13 October 1990. It was the first such event on the African continent. Pride is a wonderful and colourful celebration of the diversity of our people. And while it is the festival of the LGBTQI+ community, it is also a time for people from all backgrounds to join together, celebrate sexual diversity and support their LGBTQI+ family members, friends and colleagues.
At Webber Wentzel, we remain fully committed to creating a more inclusive, enabling and equitable working environment. We value and celebrate the diversity of the people who work here, and we would like everyone to feel free to be their authentic selves at work.
Sally Hutton, Managing Partner, Webber Wentzel: "This LGBTQI+ Pride Month, let us all commit to work harder to understand the complex, multi-faceted issues facing the LGBTQI+ community today and to cultivate a culture where members of the LGBTQI+ community feel comfortable, supported and heard and free to be themselves".
