Webber Wentzel was awarded the 2020 Funds Legal Advisor of the Year at the 9th Annual Private Equity Africa (PEA) GP & Advisor Awards held on 19 November 2020. This is the 7th consecutive year that the firm has been recognised by these awards and the fourth time as Funds Legal Advisor of the Year (in 2015, 2017, 2019 and now 2020). Webber Wentzel also acted for Phatisa (in its acquisition of Rolfes Group) who won Mid Cap Deal of the Year and Actis (in its disposal of certain Paycorp businesses) who won Overall Exit of the Year.
Anjarwalla & Khanna, the firm's key relationship partner in Kenya, won the Local Legal Advisor of the Year award and Musa Dudhia & Company, the firm's key relationship partner in Zambia, won Frontier Legal Advisor of the Year.
The winners were selected by an independent panel of highly respected industry participants, based on recommendation from the London Business School Private Equity Institute and the PEA Awards Advisory Panel.
