For a head start in your career, apply for practical vocational training with us. You'll work with some of the most skilled lawyers and experience first-hand the type of work you could manage in the future.

You'll thrive during your training with us. We believe in cultivating the knowledge and skills of our people to help them launch successful careers.

During your two year training you will rotate through three practice areas, allowing you the benefit of being exposed to different matters, partners and teams. We find that having broad exposure in your early career helps you to expand your knowledge base and to build relationships across the firm - both essential elements in building a successful long term career.

We have a formal development programme to ensure we support and guide you on your journey. To prepare for Attorneys' Admission Examinations, we offer our candidate attorneys the convenience of an in house Practical Legal Training Programme.

​Associate Orientation Programme

Our Candidate Attorney Programme is a stepping stone to bigger things. Many of our candidate attorneys are retained as associates once their clerkship is completed. Newly appointed associates continue to receive exceptional support as they transition into their new roles.

We run two orientation programmes in January/ February of each year focused on associates specialising in Corporate/ Commercial and Dispute Resolution. The programmes build technical expertise in these areas, and are packed with practical examples and thought leadership. There are also opportunities to connect with colleagues from our African firms across the continent, who are invited to attend these programmes with our Associates.

Throughout the year we offer ongoing training, looking at legal issues, leadership, technology, business development and practice management. We continuously consider how we can best enable and support our young lawyers on their journey by providing them not only with the best technical expertise, but also by exposing them to challenging matters and some of the best legal minds in the industry.
