Ziyanda Ntshona was awarded the Up-and-Coming Lawyer of the Year Award at the Chambers Africa Awards 2023, which were held as a digital awards ceremony on 12 January 2023.
Ziyanda Ntshona, currently leads the firm's Corporate Business Unit and serves on its Executive Committee. She has also served on the Webber Wentzel Board, chaired the firm's Remuneration Committee, and co-led its Private Equity Sector Group.
Ziyanda has an LLM and is an MBA graduate from the African Leadership University. She has over 15 years of experience in cross-border transactions and co-led the team that assisted Absa Bank Ltd in its acquisitions from Barclays Bank plc in nine jurisdictions, this transaction was awarded “Deal of the Year” by DealMakers in 2013.
In 2019, Ziyanda was awarded the Woman Professional of the Year by the South African Professional Services Academy (SAPSA), an award that recognizes professionalism in the country’s professional services industry. She is a Non-Executive Director for the Kolisi Foundation, founded by Springbok captain Siya Kolisi with the aim of addressing inequality in South Africa. Ziyanda serves on the board of Ubuntu Pathways, a not-for-profit organisation providing integrated support to orphaned and vulnerable children.
